DJ Stooopid
Got into early hardcore around 1990. Started buying choons like 'Charly' and 'Djs take control' from local Our Price! Started mixing around the same time with a tape player and a midi turntable (very hard work!). Got first set of turntables about '92 and never looked back. Always been into the hardcore sound and early jungle/dnb. Around the same time was visiting clubs like Milwaukies (RIP) and Diehard (RIP). Built up a nice collection of tunes up untill about 95/96 when I left the scene due to a dislike of the new stompier/vocal hardcore sound. Through the internet, got back in touch with DJ Deluxe (who I knew from a local record shop around 1994), this, and a love of the oldskool sound got me back into the music. Now producing and playing mainly hardcore (with a touch of disco!) in the old stylee, hopefully helping to fuel the breakbeat hardcore revival promoted by labels such as KFA and Nu Underground. You'll find me with Deluxe and Destiny every Sunday night on Sunday Night RAW! Also setting up my own label this year, Stoopid Vinyl, to push the come back of the breakbeat scene. |
